Hello there! I’m Alex Calvin, thanks for stopping by The Games Biz.
I’m a freelance journalist and writer who has been covering the business of video games since 2013 when I was hired as a staff writer for then-weekly UK trade paper MCV. I worked there for another three-plus years before launching PCGamesInsider.biz after a brief stint doing content marketing for London Games Festival 2017.
Along the way, I made it onto both GamesIndustry.biz’s Top 100 Rising Stars and MCV’s 30 Under 30 in 2018.
In 2019, I left to go freelance and have written for the likes of GamesIndustry.biz, Eurogamer, Kotaku UK, Video Games Chronicle, The Loadout/PCGamesN, The Guardian/Observer and VG247, among others. That’s on top of transcription work for some of the most prolific journalists working in the UK games industry.
In addition to journalism work, I also do copywriting for clients including Jagex, Xsolla, London Games Festival and Mimram.
